The GYB team collectively have several decades of experience in the insurance industry. Their combined knowledge and expertise has been gained through dedicated careers in insurance broking, claims and underwriting.
Chris joined the business in 2009 following several years in the construction industry.
Chris specialises in commercial fire and general covers and also runs the life division of the business.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, Adrianna, and his three children Ollie, Charlie and Thea. He also enjoys all sport, cooking and travelling.
Brad joined the GYB team having spent 10 years in the insurance industry as a claims manager, qualified insurance broker and branch manager. Brad has a particular interest in the technical aspects of liability insurance and specialises in commercial fire and general cover, with a focus on delivering detailed needs analysis and regular review.
Brad resides in Whitby with his wife Lisa and children Isla and Benjamin. In his spare time enjoys rugby, baseball, rock music, and craft beer.
Chief financial officer
Garry has been in the industry in various roles over many years. Beginning his career with Royal Sun Alliance, he joined the industry from school as they let him keep his long hair. His insurance experience includes underwriting, liability and marine claims, and recovery. Garry took a few years out of insurance to obtain a diploma in horticulture and run a company.
Garry likes all sport, plays social tennis and squash, and enjoys spending time with his family.
Jon joined GYB as a Claims Manager and has subsequently moved into a broking role. Jon has been in the insurance industry for almost 20 years, beginning his career as a Claims Handler for State Insurance and filling a variety of roles over the years, more recently branching out to Sales and Underwriting with Vero Insurance.
Jon resides in the Hutt Valley with his wife Kerrin and daughter Amelia. In his spare time Jon enjoys teaching the drums.
Nicki joined GYB in March 2019 in a broker support role following 5 years at other Wellington brokerages and 10 years at Vero Insurance. Her current role is to provide any administration support required for the GYB brokers.
Outside of work, Nicki enjoys spending time with her two children, Ashleigh and Connor and enjoys music, movies, baking and gardening.
Holly joined GYB in November 2020 in a broker support role following a year in a similar role at the Police Association.
Her current role is to provide any administration support required for the GYB brokers.
Holly resides in the Hutt Valley with her husband Duncan. In her spare time Holly enjoys spending time with family, cooking, playing pool, shopping and travelling.
Rodney joined GYB in April 2021 as a broker support after 16 years in the banking industry, in both London and Melbourne. His current role is providing administration support for GYB brokers.
Outside of work, Rodney lives on the Kapiti Coast and enjoys spending time with friends and family. In his spare time Rodney enjoys rugby, tennis, cricket and golf.
Fiona joined GYB in September 2020 as Claims Manager. Her insurance career began in sales in State Insurance in 2007. She then had claims roles within NZI for 8 years, working with both domestic and commercial claims. More recently Fiona spent several years working in LIMS and building consents administration at Wellington City Council.
Fiona lives in Upper Hutt with her husband John-Paul, step daughter Melanie and cat, Max. She spends her spare time with friends, enjoys outdoor activities around Upper Hutt and has different roles within her Church including singing in the band.
